ROP bulb options??

After much searching and reading I was unable to find anything dealing with local sources for a planned ROP mod. I did find the original ROP 3854 bulbs included one 11 watt bulb with a 24 watt bulb also.



I was at my local walmart and found several bi-pin bulbs ranging from 12 watt up to 35 watt and all using 12 volts. I am adding a link below of one of the bulbs and wonder if anyone has experimented with this type bulb before....I figured I could use 3 li-ion cells to power the 12 volt lamp and see what happens.



Is there some physical reason these local lamps are not used very much??

If you're using a G4 base, the larger size wire of some bulbs will deform the connectors inside of the base. Search CPF for ROP and you'll find Pelican bulbs (PR), Welsh-Allyn bulbs, and others that seem *perfect.*
