I checked luxluthors destructive incan bulb testing and he didn't have the hours that this 6v bulb would last for. Will I run the risk of flashing the bulb at 7.2v?

Which bulb? 3853 or 3854 ?
If you mean 3854 Hi bulb and 6 AA NiMH batteries, depending on battery type and set up resistance, you will get very roughly average of 40 hours life.

How do you know your set up will deliver 7.2 to bulb terminals?
You may have a nominal of 7.2 battery voltage but hot out of charger delivers lot more.
6xNiMH sub "C" hot of the charger with lower resistance set up will flash the bulb.

Hi folks,

i don't want to hijack this thread but I have a very similar question:

What would the estimated bulb life for a ROP high bulb ("Pelican 3854h") on 2x AW lithium C-cells be?

I'm using it in a 2c mag with all the resistance mods done and all contacts treated with Deoxit and Progold.

thanks :)

I have been running a 3854H in a 2C with 2xAW Li-ions for the past year(my favorite light!).I have been getting between 4-8 hours per bulb.I have never flashed a bulb with fresh batteries but with resistance fixes it is possible. With the 2 AW batteries it is noticeably brighter than with 6 Eneloops.

I have a Kel-lite ROP High, with tail cap resistance mod.
Running on 2x DX C li-ion. (Freshly charged & show 8.3V together)

Flashed my 3854H in one hour!

Just removed the resistance mod & hope the next bulb will last longer.
