I haven't seen a key to this before, but if you look on the back of a Sanyo charger like the MQN06 there is a three letter code in the lower right of the rating plate. This is a Year-Month-Day date code for the production lot, decoded as follows:

Year
2006 - K
2007 - L
2008 - M
..

Month
Jan - A
Feb - B
Mar - C
..
Dec - L

Day
1 - A
2 - B
..
26 - Z
27 - 7
28 - 8
29 - 9
30 - 0
31 - 1

I have a unit with code KHV, making it 22nd August, 2006. The date code on the eneloops in the same package was 06-09 (September 2006).

I found this information in a specification document for one of the Sanyo chargers. It's purely of curiosity value of course, but interesting to know.

My NC-MDR02NU Eneloop charger has a date code of KDZ - April 26, 2006.

The pair of Eneloop AAs that came with it were dated either June or August 2006.

That's odd; my MQN06 just has 'Lot No.' on the back - '3507H' (bought it last week in the Family Pack)

sadly there is nothing after Lot No.; the actual lot number is in a box below the text 'Lot No.'.

Those are the right-bottom most texts available. :(

I realize this thread is a bit old now but couldn't find anything else relevant. Here's a pic of the Lot No. and as you can see there is no other code next to it:

This is from a NC-MQN06U that was part of the Eneloop Power Pack set. I'd imagine this can provide date info. Anyone have any ideas?

Thx,
Tim

It doesn't appear that the MQN06 lot no. can be decoded in the same way as the MQN05. However, the date code on the batteries is of more practical interest.

The NC-MDU01 USB charger appears to use the Letter-Code for lots.
The one I got recently was REP:
2013 = R
E = May
P = 16
