Still working on my own headlamp, I need a rotary switch.
Found some from "Ebe" but I'm not yet convinced.

Does anyone of the Scurion owners or other high end headlamps know by chance which waterproof rotary switches have been used?

Same question for cable insertion into the housing. They use same "connector". What is it?

Is the Scurion switch a commercial one?

I've only handled one briefly, but I'd assumed it was a custom setup - a sprung-return-to centre arrangement, with microswitches being operated by a small twist in either direction

For my current project I'm using a grayhill brand sealed rotary switch that I got from Future Electronics. They can be quite small, often have an adjustable number of positions, and are designed for military and industrial applications.

I needed something that was 'shorting' or 'make before break' style which was very hard to locate. If you don't need that particular feature, then you don't need to look as hard.

For cable glands, check this link. Altech makes a whole range of sizes and materials.

Hope this helps.

I'm planning to use a Grayhill rotary switch for my next headlamp. I used an Electroswitch brand rotary switch for my last homemade light... it's sealed & supposedly waterproof, but it's a little on the large side, and doesn't feel as high of quality as I'd like.

I see, so it's the programmed controler that switches to the different modes upon contact to the one or other side, i.e. microswitch, being made with the twist arrangement. A bit to complicated for now, maybe ok for a later project.
Thank you uk_caver :)

They're really nice. Very solid feel and turning action. The 50 series was the smallest I could find with the right features.
