Bought two ultralast cr123r and charger today. Open package got it for 22 dollars. They seem to work good. They are 3.4 off the charger for a little while, and cant remember what they were before charging them. They work fine in my luxeon e2l, and the high works fine on the e1b, but the low flickers? Anybody know what this means? I thought i read the high was suppose to flicker? Any way i think once they lose a little charge they will work fine. Cause i think before i charged them high and low worked on the e1b. So should i be alright with these bats and these lights? I really like the thought of rechargeable and hope these work out. And yea i searched but the wealth of info made my eyes cross.. Any thoughts on these particular bats? If they work good i might get a couple more.. So, thoughts??

Later chris!!

I use the same cells in my E1E/KX1. Anything over 3.2v will cause low mode to flicker, so I run them in another light for a while after charging. They work fine but the capacity is pretty skinny.

This is what I wrote in many other threads asking about the E series and rechargeables.

E2DL and KX2 heads will work in a 1 cell body with an RCR123 3.7v battery.

E1B and KX1 heads won't work with an RCR123 3.7v battery because the circuitry is different and will try to regulate the voltage, resulting in a slow-strobe effect.

The Ultralast cells are 3v rechargeables. The ones I have usually come off the charger at 3.3-3.4 volts. I haven't found anything on their chemistry, North American Battery Corp just lists the chemistry as "Ii-ion". Since they don't use an add-on protection/regulation board, are the same size as primaries and the run time is relatively short I'll guess they're LiFePO. I've been using these for a couple of years and haven't had one go bad yet, so I'll give them a happy face.:)
