Today i bought this Stanley 1003 Lumen rated flashlight. It was $49.99 down from $59.99 so i gave it a try. It recharges via usb. It can also charge your smart phone as it doubles as a usb out :) The blue led is also a button. Just have to plug in your phone and press the button.
The light is about a 1000 lumens and this thing is very solid. it has an aluminum reflector and a plastic lens which can be easy upgraded to a ucl. I did dedome mine and it came out flawless. perfect warm beam and it throw just north of 100kcd. for all it does its well worth it imo

That is the type of light I expect to see in a UK trade store.Decent kit at a very decent price.Do not be surprised to see the light under different brands that Stanley Tool own such as Black & Decker,Dewalt,Mac Tools Facom and many others.

It looks like a light that Walmart sells under the Ozark Trail name. It has pretty much the same specs.

Your right it does look close to that light but thats where it ends.
The quality on the ozark trail are crap. Iv had two of them. They quality on the stanley is much higher.

whats the gain of dedoming?

Can this have effects on lifetime?
(say: worsening thermal management, or so?)

Dedoming reduces the lumen output slightly but allows the beam to tighten significantly. Additionally it tends to change the tint of the light, usually shifting it towards the warmer end of the spectrum. It likely does have some decrease in lifetime but has not seemed to be a problem in real world consequences from what I have seen and heard so far.
