SSC P4 in a Mag position/Height?

I have an SSC P4 to mount in (one of) my old Mags, basically I am going to make some kind of heatsink to hold the led and take the heat to the body. I will be using the original mag reflector with the cam chopped off, but i have one question:

I want to make sure the LED is mounted in the optimum position for the reflector: what (vertical) distance is ideal from the end of the mag body to the base of the LED (not star)?

Look into the reflector at arms length(or further). If you see the whole reflector reflecting the yellow phosphor, the LED is at the right focus. If not, adjust until the LED is in focus.

The level of the SSC's leads is the same as the bottom of the metallized portion of the mag reflector.
