I'm sure this has come up but searching didn't give me what I'm looking for and I am admittedly too lazy to go through 12 threads and umpteen pages so...

I've been getting a lot of inquiries regarding using rechargeables in the new Surefire Cree lights. Can anyone tell me (firsthand preferably) what they've tried and what works/doesn't work?

I have run an E2L on a 17670 but it is tiiiiiight in the body. I haven't done run times yet. I ordered some RCR123 from you that should be here on Monday and I will do runtimes next week if no one else has by then. I hope this helps.

I'm interested in those runtimes! ;) I ordered a E2L 3 days ago based on the fact it runs for a long time on primaries and that it took at least 14670 cells. The runtime Chao did on 14670 is interesting to me but I know the 2 x RCR123 would be a viable option too. I'm waiting for more data before ordering rechargeables.

Thanks folks - any additional info would be appreciated.

I assumed a single Li_ion would work (though I wasn't sure about ouput) - now I want to know about 2 RCR123A both 3.6 and 3.0V. :)

So far:

What works:
14670, 17670 (tight),

What probably works fine:
2 x 16340 or 2 x RCR123A
