Surefire L1 Seoul & E2D Porcupine :D

• Khatod 17mm Reflector
• Mimimag SS Bezel

• SS Minimag bezel

• Thick O-Ring under lense for waterproofing,since the original gasket was to thin with this bezel.

• EO-E2R Extreme High Output 7.2V, 150 Lumens Extreme High Output Lamp Assembly(For 2 x RCR123A Batteries E Series Flashlights)

Surefire L1 Gen 1

After the mod the light is very bright and gives a perfect beam with lots of spill and a nice hotspot.The kathod reflectors are much better than the IMS imho.
Sorry no beamshots as i am crap at taking photos.
The SS bezel also gives a Star shaped beam which characterises the Porcupine series

Surefire E2D

Awsome look,and a nice performance boost.Creamy white beam with a Star shaped beam.Throws much better than before.







The SS Bezels are screwed all the way down and is sealed and watertight.
I used some Locktite to seal the threads on the bezels and made sure the lights retain theire original waterproofness.
Note:These bezels are not a perfect fit and are a real pita to screw on.VERY tight in the end and they do have to be screwed all the way down to retain waterproofness.
I wish someone with a CNC could do another run of these bezels,specifically made for the E series heads.


I got to exiting during the modding process and didnt take any work in progress pictures,but will try to snap a pic of the led and Reflector in the L1

BTW, did you try the 20mm Kathod Reflector ? since the bezel
does not screw down all the way, you might use the space
under the lens for the 20mm reflector (instead of the 17mm) ?

I got one more of those bezels in the mail today,now i haqve to find another head to mess up
I smell a KL4 emitter swap and a SS bezel in the works
Just need to find a suiting led for that converter...:thinking:

The only thing that really suits that converter is really high Vf leds correct?

I havent tryed the 20mm kathod yet,but i have a couple heavy stippled ones i may try in a head soon.It doesent fit in the old style L1 or KL1 as far as i know and im not sure im ready to start sanding yet.I always mess reflectors that way.

But i will see if it is a fit,if i find another head to open up
The ones i already modded is locktited for waterproofness so im not going to try those again without my Bionic wrench(in the mail)
