Are there any good led mods for the surefire M3 Combatlight Would it be possible to fit 3 Crees in there is there any one that can mod one? eager to see your replies.

cmacclel is also one of the few who would be capable of doing such a mod (with first class quality)

I would personnally love to see a drop-in LED mod for the M3, like a tower module, but this hasn't been offered yet. I believe the first reason is because the stock reflector has a pretty narrow opening, and a tower module would require to open it up a little.

Maybe with the super small rebel LEDs it will become doable without modifying the reflector?

Milkyspit does this mod. PM him, there's a long line.

Line's getting shorter, been working like a dog to close the gap!

ZK188, let me know if you need something along these lines, would be a pleasure.

Thanks for the endorsement, Supernam.

*bump* lovecpf

I was about to post this same thread, and did a search and found this, so I figure I'd ask here.

I know one member does the mods, but I was wondering if anyone has DIY info on this? I'm not above purchasing an M3 lamp just to see if I can manage to stuff an LED in there. Just wondering if anyone has experiences they wish to share on this idea. The light I'm assembling right now will be a 2/3*CR123A light. A SolarForce L2 with an extender, powered by a Lumens Factory D26 3.6-13v module. I'd probably not be able to increase output beyond that in a SF M3, but I think it'd be nice for the wider head, plus I like the light's aesthetics, anyway. :twothumbs

Failing that, what about the SF 6P 'turbo' conversion head? Would an LED setup fit in there? Since I've already got a P60-compatible host to work with, that might be the preferable of the two options, money-wise.

Thanks.

SeeThirty, thank you for taking the trouble to search for a relevant thread. However, this is an old one which for one reason and another came to nothing, so I'm going to close it now.

The 2 threads referenced above by brighterisbetter are both more recent, both by members who are still active here, and both good threads - they'll be better ones for you to consider, so I suggest you continue there.
