Surefire Statement = √0 = rant

I guess I am naive for listening to what Surefire says.

On September 10, 2009 Surefire sent me this email:

"The "Firefighter series" lights are expected to be made available toward the end of September. "

I have been waiting to purchase a G3D-FYL to send to my nephew in Afghanistan for Christmas. I am now close to the mailing deadline.

Oh well -lots of other choices.

Not from a US or Canadian dealer.

Surefire was referring to dealer availability.

And, i can't purchase it from Surefire direct because I am in Canada - I asked them.

Ask a fellow CPFer in the US to purchase the light and mail it straight to your nephew?

Uh... EBAY? There are quite a few available on EBAY for far less than what you'd pay a Canadian dealer anyway.. That's where I buy all my SF lights. Expect to pay about a 30% markup from SF's prices if you buy from a dealer here in Canada.

Expected (and the e-mail you quoted did indicate an expected release date - nothing more) release dates from SureFire are notoriously unreliable. A quick search on CPF would have shown you this.
