The website states that on high that it will put out "2hrs of tactical level light with a total runtime of three hours." To me with a SSC-P4 in it, it should be putting out more than 100 lumens for 2 hours regulated. Thats' gotta be like 160+.... Anyone care to speculate as to what the actual output maybe?

I just got one recently.

It's noticeably brighter than my Aeon rated at 100lm (out the front?) and my SF P60L dropin rated at 80lm. Only way to measure it accurately is with a lumen sphere - I know there's at least one guy on CPF with a lumen sphere.

It's possible that they are using slightly better bins than when they were released a few months ago.

Remember it's "Surefire lumens" so it's pretty much the lower end of average output. It allows them to use T2,U1 and U2 bins at any time and they won't be lying.

They probably also factored in losses in the optics and worst case scenario for electronics efficiency.

My question is. If they rate it like they rate their semi-regulated LED dropins where it has a negatively sloped output curve does that mean it's not fully regulated like the old ones? Will I get less than 100 lumens on high if I use it on high for extended periods?

Or do they mean that at a level producing slightly above 50 lumens (their words on tactical level lighting) I will get 2 hours of runtime?

Thats a good question. Hmmm, I would think they would mean the full output for the 2+ hours....

175 hours on low that is. The low on the U2A is pretty low, I'd guess <1 lumen.

The old U2 had a very good driver so unless they screwed up badly for no reason regulation should be good on all levels.

PS! Anybody put a warm tinted MC-E in a U2 and want to show pics?
