I dropped my week old E2DL back in 09/08 - hitting concrete and marring the tailcap to where it wasn't stable standing on it's end. The clip stretched and it took more falls, that tailcap's magnetic personality finding concrete to hit first each time. Pretty bashed up, I recently swapped it with my E1b tailcap - and the E2DL would fit a KSF sheathe nicely. The E1b had a ragged end for 'protection' - or just grossing folks out.
I called S-F to order some batteries and a Z-68 tailcap for the E1b when I asked how I could get another tailcap for the E2DL... they sent me one gratis - under warranty! I forgot to order the Z-68, just leaving the old E2DL tailcap, with it's sharp edges eased, on the 'Backup'. I just need some way to color the filed Aluminum edges. S-F said to expect the order in a few days and the replacement part in a few weeks - the reverse was true - that tailcap was here in three days! First rate, in my book.
