Thanks for posting that! That's the same exact guts as the Harbor Freight HID ($120 or so). I bought a broken one from the clearance table of my local HF and transplanted the guts to a Thor, but I had to machine an adapter to fit the H7 HID into the H4-compatible Thor.

Nice pics.
I had mine partially apart also.

How did you get to the 4 screws that hold the charging plug/circuit board to the side of the housing?

It was superglued

It was superguled

I was confused by this answer. And no, not because you misspelled it.

I had mine apart again trying to figure how you did it. Pulled the battery and looked inside only to see access to the board blocked by the battery box. And it looks like the only way to get it from the inside would involve cutting out the battery box.

Then I looked closer at your pics and noticed that you peeled back your label to get to the board.
Doh, :ohgeez:that explains the superglue.

So the board screws to the plastic piece, which is superglued to the housing. Are there any components on the plastic piece that would remain if you were to remove the 4 screws that hold the board to it?

The 4 screws and plastic cover keep all the colored LED's protected .All other parts are hooked to circut board

So, can I hook a car battery up to this thing without blowing something up? thanks for helping the new guy:poof:

Ok I have one quick question! Everything looks ok but what is the yellow wire coming from the ballest to the charger board for? This will bug me for days? I'm going to asume it tells the charger that the lamp is lit and not to charge the batts but thats all I could come up with.

Jim, Thanks for the info re using a car battery with the Vector HID. I'll mostly be using this from a boat so the weight isn't an issue but being able to see better - and longer - is a genuine big deal. Steve
