My hearing is also permanently reduced due to loud music, driving with windows open, motorcycling w/o earplugs, and having a loud earpiece from my radar detector in my left ear while motorcycling.
This has left me with significantly reduced sensitivity, and uneven volume between ears. My left ear is much worst.
The ringing comes and goes.
It's especially concerning when my gf complains about hearing a bus/truck on a blvd. over 3 blocks away at bedtime, while I hear nothing.
