A few have said thet the TK40 does not make a good bike light. I have a different opinion and I thought I'd share. On its own the TK40 is not a great bike light, the UI is slow and has too many modes, but as a spot/driving light supplementing some lights shining directly in front of the bike, its perfect. There are also limitations on how you would mount the TK40. After several variations and combinations I have settled on the ideal setup for my riding which is mainly road and path. To cut the story short I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

Well it works for me

pushy,
Lots of pics of the light, how about some using the light. That is, beamshots?

Looks like you were pretty determined to make it work, and make it work you did.

does not make a good bike light.
imho the general meening is, that it is too bulky and heavy, the beam of the quad should be as good as with any other light.
f.e. the M1X were much better in the weight dept. (and in cell change dept. also).

Also - again just a guess - it is trail riding what most posters had im mind, where the steering might not profit from bumps and the weight of an 8 AA celled light.

PS: instead of steling 1/2 of the output of Your additional lights with those black adhesives, mount reflecting "sheets" horizontally over them. Will also cut some spill but force that down on the road.
Old CDs were a 1st option (bend the parts in shape with heat to increase optical appearance)
