Hello friends,

As I told you we have worked a little in the past about this, so big part of the job was already done.

We have already the materials (440C and 301 Sheet), so we will be soon making the prototypes.

The gap between the resistorized contact and the direct is just 0,5 mm. Due to this is difficult to get into the reduced level by pressing the tailcap, as we pretend to keep it with a really short travel. You wil be able to get easily the LOW level by turning the tailcap, but momentary will put you into the HIGH mode.

SO this is how it works.

TWIST TAILCAP: SAFE-LOW constant -HI constant.
PUSH TAILCAP: momentary HIGH.

We hope to keep the original measurements, but worst of the cases the tailcap will increase 1,5 mm lenght.

Javier

This sounds great.
Constant-on low and high at a twist of the tailcap and momentary high by pushing it would be a nice setup. Low is often used to work, read or something like that, therefor constant on is useful. The blindingly bright light is something, which is often used just for short bursts.

I will keep watching this thread :twothumbs

greetings,
Michael

Wow, that was very fast!!!!!

Good job, Javier:twothumbs

I'll take definitely one in black and one in natural (for my U-15 and my T-15:D)

**Edit**: I hope the new 2-stage-tailcap have the new design from the T-15-modells.

Greetings:wave:

COOL! I'll need one in Black for my black B-15 (arriving Thursday, yee-ha!), and one in natural for my U-04. MAYBE one in your special anodization for your upcoming U-04 SE when you figure our what special innards to give it - Any good proposals yet? Put me on the list even if it's the stock internals... But it would be SWEET to have one of our fine forum Modders do their magic with one - MilkyBarbolight? BarboMac light?
GizBarbo? Any other ideas? ;)

Sounds really great!

Can't wait to get two of them. :)

Best regards

Alex

much needed!

any chance parts will retro fit an old U-09?

what's a KLC8? do you mean upgrade to SSC P4? U-09 is direct drive so DD on lower vf emitter would greatly increase final current. depending upon vf, current would be 1.5amp+ or way too high.

was considering adding regulation with some type of board.

removing lens without damage is possible with right tools. I use a lever actuated suction cup to pull lens out without damage. otherwise lens will be damaged during removal.

Yes, will start sending upgrading kits right soon.

You can go for KLC8 an get an improvement arround 100% or more.

But you need some skills

Hello Javier

Any news on the two stage tailcap?
I would probably buy a U-15 if it had a 2-stage tailcap. If the U-15 has an output of 600lm, I think a sensible low would be around 150lm. This would make it ideal for night time walking etc.

I don't think a low low is such a good idea for this particular light since I can always carry my Arc AAA for reading at night.

Hi Javier,

The two stage tailcap is a great idea.

I was wondering if it will be possible to incorporate the new two stage mechanism into the tailcap for the K-15 umbilical?

This would make the *perfect* dive torch :D:D
