This has probably been asked a million times but:

Im seriously considering getting one of these for my second patrol light. I want something smaller than my PolyStinger, and from all the research Ive done, this little light might be the ticket. I like the idea that you can dim the light. Anyone out there use this little light on patrol yet?

Anyone know why this light is not on Insight's website, seems odd.

thanks

Haven't used it on the job yet, but I think it will work just fine. I recently bought a Typhoon, which had been advertised as a Typhoon 2. I have a Typhoon 2 on the way, but I think "80+" lumens is still a pretty good light for its size. It's the first one I've owned with a strobe in it, and it seems like that would be a heck of a tactical tool.
The dimming feature is pretty cool, dropping it down to where it would be fine for checking a license or something without lighting up the whole block. I have a clip-on LED light I'd probably use for that, but it's good to have the option there in the Typhoon.

It was there recently, but since you mentioned that, I went and looked for it but didn't see it. I had to go to Insight's online store to find a search function, and when I entered "H2X," all that came up was the Arcturus. Tried "Typhoon," but there were no matches. I think the Arcturus is the rechargeable version of the Typhoon.
If you want to stick with disposable batteries instead of rechargeable, there should be some Typhoon 2 deals on eBay.

The Comp-Tac holder I ordered earlier this week showed up today, and I'm pretty impressed with it. I ordered the Blade Tech Tec-Lok mount on mine. It's actually more compact than it might seem from the pic on their page. It's a very secure rig, too.

I've got several different lights I could use for patrol duty, but I think I'm going to go with the Typhoon 2 as my primary. Not sure yet what I'll do with the one that turned out to be a "gen 1," but I might keep it for a spare, with or without a mod to a brighter LED.
