I came across this USB RGB light resembling a memory stick, which responds to voice commands, locally for $2.50. Image shows top cover removed. There are two RGB LEDs, one each side of the PCB. Small Microphone and control chip are about all it consists of.
Light responds to a variety of commands: light on, light off, red colour, blue colour, green colour...change colour. Also: dim the light, brighten the light (5 steps), minimum brightness, maximum brightness, set one hour timer, set two hour timer, cancel timer.
Some mixed colours include purple, pink, and aqua (but no command for it, get to it by cycling through).
As with other low-cost devices, there are downsides. Light is not very bright, but fine for night light. Command decode is active continuously, and could interpret normal voice (within up to 10 feet) as a command. I left it on near a radio for a couple of hours, and on return colour had changed.
