Since I got it, I have been running my RA twisty on primary CR123A cells but now that I am ordering a custom made Clicky I would like to get a few rechargeable cells and a new charger.

I'm still fairly new to the whole lithium rechargeable thing and I don't know if using RCR123's against primaries will have any affect on the performance of the lights. Maybe someone could clarify this for me?

What combination of cells and charger would you guys reccomend? I would like to get it in the UK is possible but if I am getting it from America then please limit suggestions to a website where I can get the pelican 1010 case for the RA lights as well like battery station.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have a look at AW batteries on CPF Marcket Place. You can buy the batteries and a WF-139 charger to charge them. Don't forget to order 2 spacers so the batteies can fit in the charger. I have found AW's batteries to be the best, without any doubt. Performance should be close to the same but with a shorter run-time.

If you want to go through an on-line store try lighthound. They sell all of the above and pelican cases as well.

If you buy the WF-139 charger from 4sevens, they always include the 2 spacers to enable you to charge the smaller ICR123 batteries. These batteries are also available from 4sevens (AW brand) - If you are new to Lithium-Ion batteries, I would definately buy these protected cells.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have a WF-139 charger for my 18650 cells already, although I now know that it's a fake because the lights do not flash when it is charging a cell. I will probably buy a genuine one, some spacers, some RCR123's, and the relevant Pelican cases at the end of the week when I order my new Clicky.

I've had excellent results with the Soshine batteries from DX. Not protected, but for a single cell light- they are great. The WF 138 charger is good too. Stops dead on 4.20 for me.

Thanks lighthouse one, I will be ordering quite a few primaries and a few RCR123A's when I get the clicky so I might buy a couple of different brands of the RCR's to see what sort of performance I get.

IMO the Pila IBC charger is tops.

Not really necessary. You can't go wrong with AW protected cells.

Agreed. AW protected cells are high in quality.

I have been using the RCR123As for my Ra Lights, but there's no better alternative for primaries. I still use them alot for my lights.

Please post in the correct forum. This belongs in the Batteries section. I'm moving it there now.
