What 2 AA LED light has the best throw or spotlight?

I am going to buy a new 2 AA LED light but I am totally confused about the difference between Cree and Luxeon LED lights. I want a light for under $50.00 that has the best long range beam or spot. I at first looked at the Fenix 2 AA but I am not sure if there are better ones out there. My 4 AA Streamlight Luxeon is terrific but a little too big for EDC. Any suggestions? It doesn't have to have 6 or 8 levels of light but regulation would be good. Thanks ! Ken

I'd vote for the Fenix L2D Q5 model. You might find one with a smooth reflector, that should give more throw than a OP one.
