What charge for 'Refresh & Analyze'? (MH9000)

What is a good charge and discharge rate for using 'Refresh & Analyze' mode on the MH9000? I have Powerex 2700s and using the batteries on a Canon 580exII Flashgun, not a torch.

Im thinking 1000mAh charge, only cos i always charge my batteries at that rate so it seems logical in a way. But the discharge rate has got me stumped. 1000mAh? 500mAh? 100mAh?

Also, if left overnight in Refresh & Analyze mode (charge, discharge and charge again) will I still be able to see the capacities of my batteries or will the data be erased when the final charge begins?

I normally use 0.5C charge and 0.25C discharge.
That would be 1300 charge and 700 discharge for your 2700 mAh cells.

The discharged capacity will be stored until you remove the battery from the charger.

only thing i would do different is discharge at the same rate of the charge, because i am Tired of waiting for 2X as long to discharge.
but if you want a fuller discharge TO the exact same final locked down voltage (1V) (that is defined by the machine already) then that is a good reason for the slower discharge.

also figure more about reality, if your going to discharge the cells in 2 hours , then if your Testing and not cycling/refreshing, do it similar to how it actually will when you use it.

like some of my devices use 250ma (continuous), so if i want to test how long they will actually run, how they actually work, then i should use 250ma, anything else isnt what would really happen. not that exact same current discharges are what ever happens anyway , especially in a flash unit.

Thanks BlackRose, i did as you said and used 0.5C/0.25C. Went to bed and indeed the capacities were there when i woke up!

Vidpro, they do take a long time to discharge at half the charge rate. I used 0.25C (shot in the dark) cos Im using photography flash guns.

Is it normal to have such low capacities for PowerEx 2700s?

I did a 'break in' mode when i first got them, and they've been used normally with 5 charge cycles and now this. How can i get them up to higher capacities? Is there hope for 2500mAh?

My batts would never get over 2400........they were cycled 2 times and then a break in followed by an R/A.

Well in that case, Im done with the PowerEx 2700's. My Imedions last so much longer. I guess i got an old batch or something. My next set of batteries will be Eneloops cos they're also LSD and just to compare with the Imedions.
