I brush dust off a reflector using an optical brush...when it didn't come out, a friend took the reflector over and guess what he used?

A FRIGGIN NYLON TOOTH BRUSH

so, reflector destroyed, friendship ends, end of story.

I use compressed air to remove dust. Not the air duster (too weak), but 90psi blow gun is strong enough. Just make sure no oil is in the air supply line, that would be bad.

yes, even surefire's reflectors are that temperamental
never ever touch them,
the problem with surefire reflectors are they are machined as part of the head
they dont come out, so its even worse in that its very very hard to clean them
short answer, dont touch surefire's reflectors
same goes for any other reflectors

If I ever want to "Polish" a reflector, I'll probably use pirogis.

I washed a McR 18mm in Ivory dishwashing soap and warm water, rinsed it, and it was fine.

I have found using warm water with a squirt of dishwashing liquid and rinsing with spring water will not leave spots! "Best shine....everytime!"
