What is an EDC?

Sorry guys, I feel embarrest asking this but I never understood what EDC is? I hear it EVERYWHERE here, I searched CPF and even the wiki and google to no luck.

Every Day Carry. It can apply to anything. A knife, Light, Tool, etc.......

Technically, EDC is "EveryDay Carry," where "EveryDay" (one word) is an adjective used to describe "Carry."

As a very broad term, it has different meanings to different people. One person's idea of an EDC may be a duty light used many hours each day, another person's idea of an EDC may be more of a keychain light used once a week.

Meanings also differs depending on the context of the discussion. Knives and multi-tools are also referred to as EDC's.
