1. Photography
2. Knives - not so much these days, flashlights have taken over
3. Graphic novels
4. Sleeping under a basha and eating rat packs...
5. EDC gear - I started lurking over at EDCF and now I have a plethora of Maxpedition gear and the like
6. A perpetual lack of money, due to all of the above.

Regards,
Tempest

Old-skool boomboxes and analog synthesizers...

Both take up significantly more room than flashlights.

...especially the synthesizers.

Love my Dorcy 220! :D

I actually collect and use backpacking and wilderness survival gear. This actually includes flashlights. After carrying a 60 lb. pack 25 miles in 5 days, I decided to go ultralight to save my back, knees, and feet. For three season use, I have pack weight down to 35 lbs. for 5+ days and still have everything I need to be comfortable. I continue collecting flashlights because they continue to make improvements that allow me to carry less weight. Efficiency improves constantly meaning fewer batteries to carry. L.e.d. lifetime is unbelievably long so I don't have to carry spare bulbs. With the ability to hike safely at night, I can carry less sunblock and bug repellent. Being able to see day and night means fewer accidents that require first aid supplies. Flashlights keep me from getting lost and help with navigation. Without a flashlight, I'd need to carry more weight for the ten essentials.

Hiking, backpacking, and alpine/winter travel gear gets expensive.

Ham radio, knives, guns...

Thankfully, I've mostly broken myself of the habit of acquiring more computers.

Antique cameras (unfortunately I lost many of them in a flood about a year and a half ago).
Classic American cars (I lost my beloved '56 Oldsmobile 88 in that same flood)
And my biggest addiction is anything that has to do with drive-in theaters, like in-car speakers and heaters, tickets, flyers, photos of drive-ins, etc.

Information and knowledge. Can be very cheap or very expensive. Can be very useful too if only for what to avoid in the future.

Wow interesting to see all the varied items. Quite a few similarities though, but the high yield savings was funny but I went through that stage as well.

Which high-yield savings did you settle on?

EDIT: I just received a message stating that FNBO-savings went down to 2.15%.. Checking(BillPay) still at 1.83% though.
ARGHH!! That damned economy!!! :banghead:

Woah... Big list coming...

These are my interests or obsessions, which I believe to be out of the normal hobby pursuit and bordering on psychosis.

Torches ( Natch)
Comics
Lighters ( Zippo's in the main )
Books
Music in all forms
Films
Photographs ( IE cameras and photography )
Poker Chips
Playing Cards
Pens
Balloons and pumps
Yoyo's
Microphones and recording kit
Comedy Podcasts
Ordinance survey maps

Phew...got that of my chest.

About time I had a new obsession.
