whats up with my new P1D?

I got a P1D Q5 in last week but have been waiting for cr123s from kaidomain(Tustfire 3.7 Lithiums) for a while now... Fast forward to today picked them up from Post Office per note on my door , charged them ,,, but only 1 output level.

twist 1, X amount of light, twist 2, X amount of light , and twist 3, X amount of light. Its the same amount. it then goes into strobe and SOS before coming back to X amount. :thinking:

Is mine bad? There is certainly no low mode. Its all just bright. At least it works.

Try a different CR123 brand and see if it makes a difference.

Don`t worry everything is normal ....
it only has 3 levels on primary 3v lithiums
they`re pretty bright on rechargeables eh! ...i use em all the time

The P1D does not have modes when used with a 3.7v RCR123. The light goes into direct drive and all modes are on the level of "high"


To have modes, a primary CR123 or lower voltage RCR123 must be used.

In my P1D I use 3.0V RCR123 rechargeables and it just loses the minimum level for the first few minutes of operation, then all three levels are back to normal. The light is brighter than with primaries but of course the capacity of the RCR's is roughly 50% of the one of a CR123 so the runtimes are not very exciting.
