I guess I could glue to regular surplus squares sinks, but I like screwed on better.

Anyone seen a place where I can get some small cheap heatsinks, that have two holes drilled or tapped to mount a single LED star?

allelectronics.com has a few small surplus heatsinks, along with cheap CPU coolers, small selection but varying inventory...on occasion it helps:)

ask at the next bigger enterprise / university / school.
Computer dept.
They ALWAYS have some old junk lying around and a Pentium 2 sink is great and wont cost anything.

PS: for using the "sink" in a light, nothing beats a thick sheet of aluminium.
Fins are totally useless here!
Find them at Your local recycle depot.

I found this website to have a good selection of heat sinks and they are cheap too!

I got a few of the "round" ones and I think they are really cool! lol
I have used about a dozen of the bigger "round" ones for LED night lights and little lamps. They are my favorites! It looks like they must have a few if there is a discount for orders over 890 pieces.
