Hey guys, im new here. I think I should just straight out tell you I use flashlights for Airsoft. some of you may or may not agree with this but keep it to yourself. I came here looking for information.

How are your feelings towards chinese clones? AKA KO (knock off) or bootlegs?

I like surefire products but since I am not relying on their flashlights to save my life I dont feel the need to invest in such an expensive flashlight system.

For example, I was in HK a couple weeks ago and I picked up a M900A weapon light copy. It cost me $60 USD. now I have taken a look at it and it is not quite an exact clone. It is using some different lamp assembly than what Surefire uses in the their M900. Im trying to get a real M series head to put on my replica M900 so i can use surefire or surefire compatible lamps. The replica lamp assembly looks like the Surefire P90 series lamp where the reflector and lamp is all one piece. I can take pictures if anyone is curious.

I have to say one thing that has drawn me to higher end flashlights is my Tokyo Marui Pro-light.

This clever design is a rechargeable 65 Lumens incandescent flashlight that doubles as a power source for the an Automatic Electric Pistol. (in the picture above you can see a Glock 18C) That is purely a toy gun that shoots plastic bbs via a complex system of gears and electrical motor that drives a piston. It is Japan's version of paintball, if you are not familiar with airsoft.

Anyway I recently purchased a replacement crown/bezel for this light that allows the use of SF P60/P90/P91 bulbs. I purchased a P91 bulb and now I ordered a SF Compatible bulb made by Lumens factory that has a 380 Lumen output.

So long story short, I am looking for more alternatives to upgrade my "toy gun" lights.

Is the new bezel an actual Surefire bezel? Do you want to run an M2 bezel, M3 bezel, or KT4 turbohead?

well Im talking about two lights actually. The Prolight for the pistol is NOT a surefire bezel. it is a custom japanese bezel to adapt SF bulbs.

My M900 has an M3 style bezel. And that is what I want to put on my M900.

One problem is that the threads might not be compatable. If you want to buy just a head, the best place to try is the CPF Marketplace.

I can say with 100% certainty that the M900 clones do not take surefire heads!

The head might look like an M900 (or in this case an M3) head, but not only are the threads different, the threaded portion is smaller in diameter on the clones.

Those M900 clones are a waste of time and money. I had one and used it for about 3 games, then it died. Taking it apart showed that the wiring was rubbish. The quality of the soldering was poor, and the rotary switch was very poorly designed. It looked the part, but was nothing more than a very heavy vertical grip! The one I imported for a friend lasted even less time.

If your life doesn't depend on the light, get yourself an Ultrafire 9P, a Lumens Factory EO-9 and a pair of AW 18500s. You can get all of this cheaper than the clone and it will be brighter and far more reliable. There are plenty of different mount options out there.

For what it's worth, I now have a Surefire M961 (that I built up from second hand parts acquired here in the market place), it was pretty cheap to build and works infinitely better than the rubbish M900 clone.

thanks for the advice. I only bought the M900 clone since I was in HK. It was like $50 USD so I cant really complain.
