hi all! I am almost ready for purchasing my first Zebralight and I am considering what bea type I need best....

The H50 80deg flood, or the H501 80 deg flashlight like beam?
I used my Petzl Taktikka as a reference and here what its beam looks like....

petzlbeam.jpg

The left part is the non-diffuser shot, the right the diffuser On shot....The then 2 yellow lines span 80 degs....

What do you know....the diffused beam I anrrower than this! And I wanted just like that!

So could anyone post a beamshot like this of his H50 & H51? Or advice on this?

So far I could only find this

Thanks beforehand, Kostas

Re: Zebralight Beamshot Request

kosPap,
the Zebra flood is a perfect artifact free beam, better than any diffuser. best demonstration is just a bare emitter (or a mule light?) - if you can see opportunity for the perfect task lighting, get the flood beam. You don't need a beamshot, just take the reflector out of one of your lights and ask yourself if that perfect beam could be useful as a headlight.

The reflector beam is basically like every other light out there. Which almost makes it worth getting the flood.

Just be clear, the flood is amazing for anything near, lighting a room, a hammock, a tent. But its strength at near illumination is the downfall for distance - it has very limited range.

Re: Zebralight Beamshot Request

guys thanks for the help....

Linge....yes i know...I amreally considering the H501, but seems the petzl diffused beam that I like is much narrower than the Zebra one. Henxe asking on this....
(sometiem ago I removed the reflector off the Ultarfire C2....I know what you mean)

Just to show that the corona (the area beyond the 80degree beam) isn't a factor in use. This picture shows the headlamp strap still touching the wall, and already the corona has faded and what we see is the flawless illumination of the main beam.

Re: Zebralight Beamshot Request

Better Late than Sorry....

Here is an animated gif...The yelow lines signify a 80 degree angle (H501 speced)

I got to apologize for my shots being at an angle to the ones people contributed.
