How cool is this? Heard this on the radio this morning and saw it on the local sports report tonight:
A local high school basketball team had their Seniors' Night, and since they were leading and the opposing team were good sports, they let their assistant manager suit up and thought they'd let him take a few throws. He's autistic and they figured it would be a good thing for him and for his family to see since the team thinks highly of him.
So, the young man takes his shot and he makes a two pointer.
And then hits a three pointer. And he does it by only hitting the bottom of the bucket -- nothing but the hole in the bottom of the net.
After another three pointer or two, the opposing team decides they might want to actually guard the kid.
Turns out they needed to. He scored about twenty points.
He made something like six out of seven three pointers.
Both sides of the stands had their jaws drop and soon after that the whole place went crazy. At the end of the game everyone ended up on the court mobbing the kid. The coach was in tears and speechless. And it was all on videotape.
The local news interviewed him and a few of the other players. Great stuff and a class act by everyone all the way around.
