luxeon light last week. New product. They also have a single CR123
sportsmans warehouse light OD green as well.

It is made in China and distributed under the name ultimate light, I think.
Can't remember the distributor but they didn't have this light on their website
instead a different luxeon listed.

Uses 2 CR123 batts, resembles the look of surefire models.

Tailswitch click on high (says 72 lumens) then click on low then off.
Newbee here so no pics or beamshots etc......
That said, great light for budget shoppers at just under $40 US.
Sportsmans warehouse also sells Surefire batteries 12 in a box for just
over $21 US.

Brighter than my taskforce AAA luxeon which is brighter than my Dorcy super
1watt older version luxeonstyle with the dammm blinker mode before you can
shut it off.

Relatively affordable light imo. Bright!

I asked sportsmans to open one so I could compare with other lights in their
case and they obliged with no problems. It handily overpowered the
Coast led lenser 3 watt light. Didn't do side by sides with the SFL4
but was not impressed with the L4 high beam for the cost, anyway.

Returned as it was a luxery impulse buy. No questions asked.

Keepers so far:
Dorcy super 1 watt from Sears a couple of years ago. Ok bright 3-AAA.
wasn't advertized as luxeon so don't know what's in it. Probably a LS led.
House light- used it when remodelling work. Guess the current model
still has the blinker mode on second click-what a nuisance.

Taskforce 3-AAA super 1 watt from Lowes. Pretty bright, switch is on
and off, no momentary. Sometimes doesn't light up if sitting for a couple
of days. Don't know why. Car light for now. Looks/feels cheap. Output
is pretty good imo.

Coast led lenser (David 15). 1-AA great little light. Plenty bright for it's
size. In pocket with wallet fits fine. The lens is weird-concave so dust and
dirt can get on it and you have to stick something in there to wipe it off.
I use it daily to read freight bills inside truck trailers at night. Very nice
skinny body for fitting in pockets.

To buy:
probably the Taskforce 2-C 3 watt luxeon from Lowes. Just read a very
enthusiastic review on CPF and it is very affordable.

Just don't have the inclination to spend a lot of cash on lights just yet.

I recently visited the local Sportsman's Warehouse here in OKC. They carry a much better selection of lights than the local Bass Pro Shop.

Nice to know they will open a package for testing before purchase.

I purchased a Streamlight TwinTask 1L from Sportsman's for $27 w/tax. Very nice combo light.

I was going to check out the Sportsman's Warehouse last week when I was in the City but wasn't able to make it. Haven't been there yet but I have been to the Bass Pro a few times and their flashlight selection isn't all that great. I will definitely have to check them out the next time I'm in the City. Any other lights worthy of mention from Sportsman's Warehouse?

I live in Portland Or, Heathah.

Their upper end lights are Surefire, Streamlight, Coast, and a few others behind
a case. The aisle lights Include cheaper models of the above plus Inova lights.
They have Coast, Gerber, their own brand in 2 models- 1 CR123 and 2 CR123.
Think Winchester has flashlights also there. (one of the gun manufacturers, anyway)
Also have headlamps and lots of cheapie brands all the way down to keychain
minilights. Have fun looking.

Note to self, no Mag LEDs there. (Walmart has them)

Welcome Pirinst. Your inclination to not spend much money on lights is about to drastically change! :naughty: Sportsmans Warehouse also has some good prices on Surefire accesories such as filters.

Heathah: You'll find that same selection at the Sportsmans in OKC. More expensive lights in the glass case, lesser on the hangers next to the case. By far the best retail outlet for flashlights and headlamps I've seen. I'd say Target is a distant second in this area.

Thanks!

I usually check Target out when I'm near one but the lights they have don't appeal to me because:

A) I already have one.

or

B) I don't like the form factor or output.

I'll definitely have to check out Sportsman's Warehouse. I don't know of any other stores in OK that stock Surefire and Streamlight among the others mentioned above.

Thanks guys.
