I am looking for a nice small light (1 inch diameter by 2 inch long) that I could use with an external battery pack. I am really looing for a light in which the end cap could be screwed directly into the light assembly head thereby shortening the body substantialy. Ideally the light would have a very tight focus of about 3 inches at about 18 inches away. I would like to keep it around $200 or so if possible. Thanks.

What would be the function of this light? I assume it's LED.
Looking to mount in onto some dental loupes (magnifying glasses) but I don't want to spend the $1000 that dental light manufactures want for their product. This is basically what I am trying to make for a little less money.

good idea. That shouldnt cost more than $20-40 really for what it is.
