I open up an old Hard Disk and found 2 magnetics inside.

They so strong that I can not separate them with my bare hands!!

Just wondering if any one try that?

You find these a lot on eBay and other places.
They're rare earth neodymium magnets.
Super strong!
They'll make a good blood blister if you get pinched by one.
I have one that's about the size of a pack of cigarettes and it can warp a TV screen from 5 feet away.

I got a pair out of a dead HD - for storage let them clamp themselves together - the magnetic field practically disappears as it's drawn from one magnet to the other. Once separate, though, watch out!

Be careful. NdFeB mags are VERY brittle. If you let them jump to each other you will eventually end up with lots of little magnets.

I have 8 neodymium magnets from 200mb hard drives.
I showed them to my friend Caitlin Williams and she said,"Those magnets are the most powerful ones I ever seen."
