a few percent gain in efficiency, perhaps - not something you'll notice on white-wall comparisons, but it may be a few more meters of effective range, or a few more lux or lumens on a photometer reading.

If you can find the UCL that's coated on one side with antireflective, and on the other with diamond, that may be compelling for combining slightly brighter with significantly harder to scratch.

IMHO.

I can't imagine a noticeable difference ... maybe a slightly higher reading in the integrating sphere. I'd be glad to read the output of both if you want to ship them to me.

Maybe I'm just getting bad batches of UCL from Flashlightlens.com, but the last few I've gotten start to loose they're coating and get blotchy. And thats not counting the ones that I tried to clean with windex...

Maybe the new "green" ones from KD will be a good replacement.
