After seeing Will's results with the bomb proof host, i got the urge to work on mine today.
Grabbed 4 High CRI P4 S2 bin Seouls from mouser and some 20mm ims smooth reflectors.
i'm using 4 separate drivers to drive each P4 at 800mah, which is the max
rating for these warm white leds.
The drivers are wired in parallel driving each p4 individually.
Power source is 6 eneloops in series.
I have a small tab taped onto the outer oring for easy removal. i'm still
working on a thin carbon fiber plate to hide the driver guts. I found it's easy
to remove the lens by running a thin peice of lubed plastic(cut from plastic blister packaging)
between the lens and the second oring, and slowly working the lens up.
some pics.
test run, no reflectors. These leds would make a great mule.
beamshot.. these seouls are nice in multiples with the smooth ims 20mm's
This was the first time i've used a warm white led..they are amazing.
warm white high cri S2 bin P4 beam vs a cree q5 wc
vs Ex10
I want to try these seouls in other lights now.
