Can the rechargeable 123 cells power this new light to its full potential?

My LX2 works fine on AW RCR123's.

Have you been able to compare it with regular 123 cells to see if the power and run time are the same?

I intend to use this light on duty at night. It will see a lot of use, and I don't want to buy batteries every shift. On the same token, there's no sense in paying a premium for this new light if rechargeables won't make it run like it does on standard 123's.

Thanks!

Runtime isn't going to be the same. It will be less...but it will be "free". If the LX2 pulls similar current to my E2DL it should be a little over 1hr. on high.
May have asked this somewhere already, but I'm curious about whether the LX2 regulates to the same output on low with 2xR123, or if it is brighter. Suspect it does, since the low isn't controlled by the resistor in the tail like with the L1.

Alot of folks warn not to run the LX2 or rechargeables.

Been using AW RCR123's in mine for almost 2 months with ZERO
problems.

So it will power the light at the same brightness, just for less time?

I can live with that.

Thanks CPF.

My LX2 produces same output* on both levels with CR123´s and RCR123´s (AW 3,7v). Does this mean that buck circuit can safely handle extra voltage of RCR123´s ?

I answered it so maybe he'll take it easy now. Fun to be new and excited but all the info is here to read if you look for it.

Not only is it safe to use 2 li-on 8.4V input, but its fully regulated and you get the same OTF...out the front lumens.

why is it flickering on RCRs 3.7V?

For the above reason i used the LiFePO4 RCRs 3.0V

The LX2 on RCRs 3.7V is flickering until the voltage drops.

I think this might cause a permanent problem after a while!

what do you think?

The 2 samples I have seen ran perfect with both 6V and 8.4V input. You got one of those:whistle:
