Part 1: Body cut-down to run 18350 (Not 18650):

The host is the new Aurora SS SH-32, which is a thin tube slim 18650 light.
It has a look similar to the Ultrafile C3 but much longer as it runs on 18650.

At only 22mm max diameter, it is one of the slimmest if not the slimmest 18650 light (The one on the right).

Obviously, I am going to cut it down, that's pretty simple logic as seen in the picture, cut & then grind down one end/bore out the other, then re-join. Being SS, boring the tube with a grinding stone
is going to take some time, so be patient, don't pull your hair out:hairpull:
Aluminum would have been be so much easier, as you get get it done much faster with step drill bits.

Now, after the body shortening, as shown between the C3 & Ultrafile A20, it's almost 1 inch shorter! it's also more slim than the Ultrafire A20 (123 light) but Runs on bigger 18350 Li-ion battery.
This battery can deliver some serious power up to 3A also gives 30% more capacity than RCR123 (The battery in Mac's original light). So this would be a great 1 cell light after I fit a SSR-50 in there for
either Direct Drive or 3 mote P7 driver. (Obviously, you can also use AW IMR 123 to get to 3Amp, but the run time will be only 1/2 compares to the 18350 Li-ion, IMR 123 run time is 20% less than regular RCR123).

I could cut it down by another 10mm, but I am not sure it's worth the effort, I'll lose the layard holes & I'll also have to re-fit the switch assembly etc. I'd rather work on fitting the SSR-50 star instead.

Note: I think 18350 is one of the most underrated battery around.
Check out this light to see the power of 3x18350 delivering 2500 lumens:

Part 2: SSR-50 LED mod
:

The reflector & Light engine. Sorry for the blurry picture, it's too late after I realize the picture was blurry. It has a deep 20mm reflector.

The 20mm pill won't fit, so I grind down the edge, now the 20mm star fits in perfectly.

Bottom of reflector also has an edge, need to be grind down flat.

This is pretty much it, re-wire the driver to direct drive. After solder the LED in place, cover the top with heat resistant thin carpon tape to prevent shorting out by the aluminum reflector.
