Rogers Grip w/ Tail-standable rear switch?

I see a lot of lights with a "tactical ring" that also have a short tail switch; it doesn't extend beyond the "tail stand" tailcap.

Do the all actually allow you to use the switch with your strong side palm ?

I think that those designs provide better cigar grip for non-tactical usage. Useless for Rogers/Surefire, however.

They do work okay with Thorpe, though.

I see that all the time too and just say to myself, "What the...., that's stupid." Oh well.

It actually turns me off of some lights that I might otherwise want.

Thorpe never seems to have caught on. The NovaFire website has taken down their instruction sheet for the technique; phone is dead; maybe the whole company is dead & its just a zombie site.
