Turns out an aftermarket bicycle handle rubber grip piece is a perfect fit on a Malkoff MD4 body with (Hound Dog head)
While the MD4 body lacks aggressive knurling (I am more of a FiveMega 2x18650 body person) this grip makes it stick to your hand. Very "grippy".
The width is about that of the Z49 clicky tailcap. So it does add some thickness, whether that's a good or bad thing - you decide. It kind of works for me. I installed it, removed it and installed it again. It adds a little thickness, you will need a larger holster for it but it is apparently worth it. The MD4 with Hound Dog head does not even pretend to be a compact lite.
This thing looks almost like a 2C lite now. Well, not really.
