What ever happened to the Zebralight Q50?

Light years away from you!
I am prepared to wait given the low low and extreme runtime the Q50 and Q50w will offer as well as the 800 lumens blast. However, in my desire for this light I have purchased a Fenix LD40 and now an Olight S35 baton neutral in their Christmas Hiker pack. Those should keep me happy until the Q50 is available...

I wish I could do that =)

I have to say the Olight S35 baton neutral has quenched my desire for present for a long running room light. I am about to get a second S35 neutral and a cool one as well to use outdoors when I need more throw then my 1xAAA or 2xAA lights.

I will still definitely get the Q50w when it is finally available because of the moonlight mode and it is still something I desire but the Q50 cool will depend on how much it weighs compared to the S35. I am walking a lot more for fitness these days and found I don't want to carry larger lights. The Q50 being 4AA vs the S35 3AA might be too heavy for me to consider as anything then a light to keep at home. It will depend on the specs when it is finally available. At present the S35 is as heavy as I want to carry when hiking.

I'll admit, i do like the Q50 look, especially in a 3.35' form factor, however i hope the S6330 comes out soon.

I was planning on being one of the first in line on buying this light ,after reading the SC600 thread maybe its a good thing the Q50 is on hold (even though its because of the other hot selling lights like the SC600 are priority).I would want them to work out the bugs first out it first before purchasing myself. They may be going through growing pains right now that are affecting QC.

Had my PA40 for a couple of days now. On high it get hot! The Q50 with a higher output and smaller profile is going to be able to cook eggs with. They are really going to have make sure the bugs with the SC600 are sorted before this is released, I really don't want to be mucking around with non ramping down stuff.

Still I see a big advantage over my PA40W is that it would be an idea indoor light with a big floody beam as you can tail stand (seems like a no brainer to me). Stick some L91's in it and you've got a great emergency light (I may even stick it in the car). Australian Summers are HOT so a lithium primary would be ideal.

Man I cant wait till the w version comes out. Not going with "cool" any more, the tint on my PA40w is awesome and is now the benchmark. Not a hint of any color but the one I wanted (ie no purple blue green ect ect)

Will the Q50 have a higher output?
I have the JetBeam PA40 to it's ANSI Rated 468. The Q50 is OTF.
I was actually going to ask what you guys think will actually be brighter. The Q50 or PA40?

No H502 until next year either. The ~6000K temp of zebralights cool white look good to me I normally like "neutrals" and to me zebralight CW looks NW and NW looks warm almost amber(I like it too though)

With headlamps I really like warm or high CRI for close up work. A flashlight for looking around a dark room or down a trail I prefer lumens over tint as long as it is not horrid.

I have been looking at Zebralight for a long time but have not gotten one yet. I just noticed that all seem to start on high mode. Can you program it to start low, medium, then High ? Thanks !

If you tap the button they will come on in high. If you hold the button down for about 1 second and let up on it, it will come on in low 1. There are more options for sub levels with memory from there for each mode.

I knew there was sub levels but I was not sure if you could start out low 1st. It does not sound like it. Thanks

You can start on low first, just hold the button down for a second rather than a quick click. It will then come on in low.

Yep, what he said ^^^
Just press it to turn it on, instead of a quick click. You dont even have to hold it down for a full second.

Yes, Zebralight has pretty much lost my confidence - seems like an outfit that can't get it's s--- together and leads potential customers on wild goose chases about all the good stuff coming - AND THEN NOTHING but constant delays and postponements. It forces me to look at competative stuff as I can't wait around in case Z finally comes across.
