It'll be alright thermal guy. They'll work the bugs out. They are gathering information on that from us now. You might have to reload your profile pic though.

Dog gone it. I had a double post and I deleted one and both are gone.....now one's back. This is messing with my head.

I got a 404 not found last night, but before that it said they were loading to another server.

It is faster- The other way was sure purdy though.

How does momma like the change?

... ... The software CPF was on was end of life approximately 8+ years ago. While yes it worked, it wasn't secure, getting new fixes, and not compatible with newer server setups.
The old CPF has entered the annals of true classicdom.

Is the new version of CPF compatible with Tapatalk?
Everything stopped displaying.
I removed it and got the following message when trying to add CPF back again.

I'm a fan of Discourse myself but XenForo is a real step up from the previous software.

Also while I've got no real dog in this fight, I'm at a loss why there's outcry over the (seemingly depricated) app when the new software renders well on a mobile browser.

How do I bookmark the ever changing first page of "new posts"? I see the "new posts" button at the top of the page but one has to already be somewhere in CPF to click it. With the old CPF, I had a permanent bookmark/link in Firefox that always took me directly to the front page of NEW POSTS and it never changed. I think Greta sent me the link to bookmark some years ago.

EDIT: Figured it out.

Try using https://www.candlepowerforums.com/whats-new/posts/ for your bookmark.

Everything is moving in the right direction, thanks for the work!

Yesterday there was no search yet, now there is a search, good.

Will it be possible to edit old posts and how can hide "Latest posts"? They take up about 1/3 of the screen and when scrolling down, empty space is saved

It would be nice to be able to turn that off for all but the front page. I am on another forum hosted by Xenforo and that is how it is set.

Boy howdy, if a fella accidently clicks on reply, wondering how to discard that accident?

And that whole, "Similar threads" section on the bottom has been not useful in terms of avoiding spending too much time looking at the computer.

I had been clicking on a big thread without a new comment and landing on the front page. Scratching my head I thought there must be a way to jump to the end.

There is. Just click the "time/date" of the last post below the thread title and "ah-ha" you jump to page 3462 instead of page 1.

Nice.

I could go for a "grey" mode (light-grey background, black font a tad thicker than the default font used for the white), too. The white text on the black background is just as harsh and actually more painful than the black text on the white background. In the absence of a "grey" mode, I will most likely stick with the light mode, because it works. The dark mode just plain hurts, and leaves worse after-images on my eyeballs.

Edit: To be clear, adding a grey mode is NOT a requirement for me; I can work with the two that are here. The fact that CPF remains is a giant PLUS for me, and I can and will adapt.
