I have just ordered a surefire defender and surefire batteries are very expensive here in the uk. I have found someone who is selling Panasonic's for a fraction of the price claiming they are an excellent alternative.
What batteries do you use?

They look good but are longer than standard batteries so don't know if that would be a problem.

Pair of primary CR123A is about 67mm long and pair of 3 volt 123 is about 72mm long.
You can add 5mm magnet to your primary cells and see if they fit and function properly.

BTW, have you ever tried single 16650 if work with same brightness?

If you are going to rarely use the Defender then stick with CR123 primaries. If you are going to use it often then use a 16650 Li-ion rechargeable, Keeppower make good quality batteries.

I have 12 Panasonic primaries and a couple of 16650 cells, just waiting on the defender to arrive. Edgar brothers sent out the single output version by mistake, which they promptly had collected. So just waiting on the duel output to arrive.

If my defender is 1000 lumen with primaries, does that mean it will be about 600 lumen with the 16650 cell.
