Hi toby_pra,

Does a indoor beamshot count? :D

Beam shot added in post #1

sweet... can you show a picture of the heatsink you mounted the ostar to?
thanks

Hi spc,

The heat-sink is similar to my P7 Mag D size heat-sink with it being a wided base for the Ostar and custom made to have a bigger mass.

Hi toby_pra,

3 x RCR123 is what is driving this little junior. Size comparison is on the 3 photo compared with my 1D.

Cool...... but your over driving the R123's. You should be pulling well over 2 amps from them poor batteries in High.

Hi Mac,

At high, the shark board is pulling about 2.04A ~ 2.08A from these AW R123 ( 2% ~ 4% higher than 2C ). It should not be too bad although according to AW's specs, 2C is the max on these cells.

There 750ma (more like 650ma) cells so 2c is 1.5amps. How do you figure 2-4% higher than 2c? It's more like 33% Also whats the current with half charged cells? The lower the voltage the higher the current draw.

Just throw some of AW's IMR16340 cells in there it'll be fine.

But if you keep using those RCR123s you're going to have a problem. :poof:

Hi shomie911,

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it is no good for the R123 in continuous high mode in long run just like Mac pointed out. And thanks to AW for making the IMR16340 cells available to minimize design constraint like this set up.

p/s: Mac, thanks for pointing out the calculation mistake.
