I have a FM 2 X 18650 body that I use with a KT turbohead and an MN16 bulb. At the moment I am using 17650's for power, but ofcoarse I want to use the AW 18650's. I use a Z59 clickie tailcap and just wanted to make sure I won't fry it with regular protected black label AW 18650's. I read in the post that's selling these bodies that the Z59 can't handle that power.
Thanks very much

The current through the tail cap owes more to the lamp than the cells, although the MN16 will draw slightly more current from 18650s than it can from smaller CR123s. Remember that the Z59 is designed for use with MN16/P91 LAs.

Problems are more likely running MN21 or WA1185s.

It will be brighter with the Z59 vs. Z41, which means less resistance, which means higher voltage. I'd be more worried about the bulb than the tailcap.
It may be ok, but IMO you're taking a risk with the MN16, which is overdriven in this setup to begin with. I fried a couple earlier this year, but had a charger that was bumping the voltage up to 4.25V on my batteries, in addition to the clickie. I'm ready to try the 2x18650/MN16 again, but will be using the Z41 this time.
I never had problems using the Z58 with unprotected 18650s and the MN21. Not until the IMR cells came out, and Lumens Factory tested tailcaps for use with them, did I hear it couldn't handle heavy loads-and now you have people running with that, and adding their own imaginary facts to the mix.
Either way, I've gone to using nothing but Z41 tailcaps on my Surefire and Leef bodied lights. Doesn't hurt to err on the side of safety.

Hi Owen... I think you meant that it will be brighter with the Z41 as opposed to the Z59, as the Z41 has lower resistance.

I meant exactly what I said. It will be brighter with the Z59.

I assume lower resistance. I measured it last year, but don't remember the difference. Don't have the Z48 or Z58 any more, since I went back to twisties.
I know there was some discussion about this subject, and several comments about various incans being brighter with the clickies.
I did side by side comparisons with the same body/head/battery/lamp assembly combinations, switching the tailcaps between them. The one with the clickie was always brighter, though sometimes it's not a very noticeable difference.
I'll see if I can find a link or two.
