I am looking for a 40-100 lumen incandescent light at the size of a magilte minimag AAA. Batteries and price tag are not considered.

I don't think anything in that output range exists(To the best of my knowledge) unless you look at LED lights

I think it can be done, I know the power end of things is possible. It's a matter of finding a bulb.

lets say we were shooting for ~50 torch lumens. That's doable around 4 watts provided we can find a bulb that fits in a mini-mag.

Either ~2.4V, 1.75A, for use on 2xNIMH

or ~7.4V, 0.6A, for use on 2x10440 li-ion cells.

I haven't seen a bulb like this anywhere, but doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

If you could find a 2xAAA flashlight, with a nice slender body, but maybe a larger head, that took a more common lamp size(like a PR base, or wider bi-pin), this would be very doable.

By "size", you mean length, correct? Would you be happy with a bright incandescent light that's 6" long?

Two 10440 LIthium Ion aaa size 3.6 volt batteries and a 7.2 volt bi pin bulb with an aluminum reflector and a ceramic bulb holder and glass lens. It'd be floody as hell with the tiny reflector but it's doable. Too bad nobody makes those parts.

which light are you thinking to?:sssh:

to be honest.... I think the best option is going to be a SF E series, they are about the most compact CR123 lights available. a E1E would be shorter than a 2AAA minimag, but would be fatter, overall dimensions still very pocket-able.

Run a 3.7V RCR123 cell, and a LumensFactory EO-E1R lamp, that'll give you about 50-60 torch lumens.

If I were you I'd go with a SF G2. It's similar length, a bit wider, but to me seems lighter. And they are relatively cheap.

a fenix L0D-CE, with a li-ion in it :)
That would be pretty bright, though i'm not so sure on runtime.

Here's the light:

(I think) I believe the strion kit and the TL3 kit are different. Might want to check batteryjunction or just ask Lighthound about it.

Good looking little torch. Don't have it but would like to have one.
