Greetings everyone,

This is my first post here so hopefully all goes well =).

I am in the market for a spotlight to use on a boat or in the woods. So this means that it needs to have an onboard power source. Also, the light must be near or under $100.

I was looking at several different models and I was curious if anyone had any experience with them. I will list them below.

The Vector VEC192 - I saw someone was asking about this a year ago, though most of the information was speculation. If you have any experience with this light and could share, I would be very greatful.

Next on my list is the Thor X Colossus at 18 million.

Another one on my list I have only found on Harbor Freight. This one is somewhat expensive, so I would only get it if it blew away the competition at the same price range ...

Those are the three I have been considering. If you have any other models that I should look at or if you have any experience with the models I have listed and could tell me about them, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your time,

- Hitz

You might also consider the Vector HID light commonly available on ebay. Its really *really* bright and lasts about an hour give or take a few mins. Its lighter than the big cyclops (think thats 16lbs) and more efficient. Comes with a wall wart and built in "smart" charger. Always worth giving a gander.

My advice for a spot light in the $100 range would be the Sam's Club "Power On Board" HID. Sam's HID

You can find them cheaper if you shop around.

Under $100 - go with the Sam's if you can find one.
Between $100 and $200 - the Amondotech N30 is the most all around useable option.

Well I can vouch for the HF HID...It dominates everything non HID. I'm getting over 750 yards of usesable throw with mine.

It's on the heavy side about 12 lbs, however I get about 2.5 hours of full regulated brightness on a full charge.

The first light you listed looked cool untill I saw the runtime.

The amondo Ill or sams hid...also look awesome and a quite a bit smaller. less throw, but more useable flood.
