It's a great light. I'd go with the 25W. It's a little larger in diameter than a 3D Mag, but around the same weight. Very useable, tremendous throw. Make sure you order the diffusion lens for a monster floodlight.

Thanks,

What is the diffusion lense? is it one of the optional 150$ filters that come with it?
What about the optional charg stnd? is there an dvantage of hving it?

I agree with Phaserburn about the 25W Xenide. It's only slightly larger, but it brighter and runs longer.

The filter he's referring to is available from AE lights separately for $35 if you dont want to purchase a whole filter set. The diffusion filter is very useful and worth having. It turn your HID light, which is usually all throw beam, and makes it into a usable work light, task light, or for lighting a trail at night.

The 20W Xenide is an excellent light, but it might be helpful if you were more specific on what you want. If you just want something really bright, I'd have to agree with everyone else and buy the 25W. If you're looking for a compact option but still want a really bright HID, the 20W is great IMO. With the 20W you'll get 90 min. of 1200 lumen light. You also have the option of getting the high capacity battery which gives 150 min. (2 1/2 hours) of light.

If you go either way, you can upgrade to a 20W or 25W bulb and ballast. It sure beats buying another Xenide, and it's only a little over $200 to do it!

I think the Xenide 25W is the best easily available HID that is actually useable today. Brighter ones can be found, but not in a traditional tubular flashlight design that only weighs 32oz. Most are larger, and significantly heavier (6-8lbs), making those long runtimes something of an unlikely event; they are just too dang heavy! If you can carry and use a 3D Mag for extended time, then the Xenide is for you.
