Hi,

Has anyone used the new mp3sparks.com website to download music?

This used to be called AllOfMp3.com but that site has been shut down recently.

Both sites are Russian, and whether they are legal or not depends on your particular stance on copyright. The multinational companies say that these sites are illegal because of copyright infringement, but under Russian law, the sites are legal and do not break any copyright rules.

I think the multinational companies don't like the site because they have no control over what prices are set for the music downloads (unlike iTunes where some of the music that's available and the price is heavily 'influenced' shall we say, by the record label).

If you look at the prices on the mp3sparks.com website, it's like 1\12 of the price of what you buy it at over here in the UK....

I think (although am not sure) that the artists & record labels still get royalties from music sold on mp3sparks.com, it's just not that much.

My only concern is that the site is Russian, and they only take credit \ debit cards. Russian companies have 'form' for loosing your financial details, and the first you know about it is when your card bill lands on the matt.

Anyone else use this website without financial problems?

Thanks.

If you want a more complete evaluation of the Allofmp3 and mp3sparks situation you can search for the Wiki Allofmp3 information.

Legal in Russia isn't sufficient for a U.S. based board and server.

It's warez to us. Thread closed.
