Anything brighter than the 1185 I could put in a M6?

I recently got a megalennium with kt4 bezel and was wondering if there was a bulb brighter than the wa1185. I'm loving this thing, but more is always better. I could also do 3 a123 cells for higher amperage if i needed.

I think your on the edge of discovering something the forum has yet to see

1185 is the brightest user tested lamp to use known for the M6, there will always be brighter ones, you may be the first to discover it:grin2:

where's the fun in the HID... I want pure amperage...lol. I'll consider it at some point, but i'm on a bit of an incan binge right now. I'm thinking about a 12x18650 elephant or something similar, I just dont know how i'd pay for it.

You must first ask yourself what are your lighting needs? For me, the 1185 already has such a short runtime lamp in an M6 (3x18650) setup. Anything brighter will typically draw more amps and have a shorter runtime.

Do a forum search and read LuxLuthor's Destructive Incan testing. That thread has priceless information on incan bulbs brightness/runtime/lifetime data.

You also need to consider the size of the KT4 bulb opening. If you use a more powerful osram, you may need to insert it through the front via removal of the bezel

Go try the 1164 on the Megalennium with 2600mAH 18650s. Remember to use soft start switch and bleed off some voltage on the low level for a minute or so before going to high. It is way brighter than the 1185
Runtime on HIGH should be about 30+ minutes.

luxluthors tests seem to say it can't really take it. I guess that's why it's so bright... I may have to play with a couple.

Yes, the 1164 is driven to the edge with 3 x 18650 and the bulb life may be only 1 - 2 hour but I am amazed by the output / size / form factor and the FUN :D.

How did you get the 2600mAH 18650's to work in the Megalennium?

I still can't get any 18650 to work in mine.

I added solder bumps in mine too. I may have to order a few of those bulbs, it's too bad they are being discontinued.

I'm thinking the new FM1909 would do it. I'm sure the run time is short but that 3000 lumen thing has got to be blinding. If we can just talk FM into selling the bulbs without having to buy a light.

So what cells would run the FM1909 in the M6 on....2 IMRs 18650s? You'd be under-driving the bulb at somewhere below 1500 lumens. The 1185 flashes at around 12.3V and over 1600 predicted bulb lumens.

Not at all the case. This is where you guys should start looking at Ictorana's graphs in this thread. For this question, look at the Lux vs. Voltage graphs in categories 1, 2 & 4. People forget about many bulbs, including AW's 30W.

Then you need to deliver the voltage/amps in that package size.

Some questions:

What about FM1909 on 3xIMRs in FM Megallenium body?

Would fit this bulb in KT4 considering the size its bulb opening or need to remove the bezel?

Thanks in advance!

I have few CL1909s which can fit to my blk KT2, so KT4 can fit too.

btw, 1909 filament position is a bit higher than others (etc. 1185), so I need to use more ring spacers to pull-down the bulb for getting focus.

Absolutely possible and amazing output with 3 IMR 18650

Since this bulb draws about 5.5 Amp, I have used copper plated socket springs to deliver more current.

Run time is 15 miutes maximum.
