Arc AAA battery leakage inside. How to clean?

The Duracell AAA battery leaked inside my Arc AAA and left a crust in the bottom of the Arc AAA. What do I need to do to clean out the inside of the Arc AAA?

If you have a hand drill, wrap some steel wool around a drill bit and polish the crud out at slow speed and be careful not to let the drill bit touch the bottom, just the steel wool.

Wouldn't that take the chemkote off?

I would try using something less abrasive, maybe poor some windex or alcohol in the tube and let it sit awhile then use a Qtip or microfiber towel and twist it in the tube till the residue is gone.
